To be honest, I really have only recommended 2 people (BnB and Deji). BnB for his III Coding Archive, which he put in a lot of work for and Deji for his overall contributions. The latter only got a Verbal Commendation which I felt should have been a medal. It may seem like "a lot," but I have no further plans for recommending people for commendations. I really emphasize the "recommend" part, since it's not in my position to give out medals and such. It's the moderators and admins that make that decision.

I've got my medal for annual vote: I'd like to say something original than what BnB has done. I spent much more time than him to find out an innovative method to do real animations. Nevertheless, his medal is far better than mine.

I admit that the reward was excessive beacause i didn't made something original as you said, but man look around Cheat won a medal because he made a Music category Directory which is not even GTA related and original as you said also two other people won a disscusion medal, which is very rare, because they wrote VAGINA poems in the OGA forums WTF. And my medal didn't change who am I, I am still a n00b who doesn't know how to use IDA.

Yep, I strongly disagree the fact DYOM is proposed to be voted every year. The mod itself has been already voted once: in this way other users just give his vote on the update they've made in a year.

You do not have to take care about others but firstly reproach yourself. It isn't a caution, it's an advice!

R* didn't use hardcoded stuff into main.scm. You can't make this comparison because they're 2 different things. Do not discourage yourself if you're only a nice scripter.

Well hey it's just a forum. I didn't realize that it would be such a big deal when I recommended them.

It's not like they're given out like candy to children on good behavior either. I thought that most of the people at GTAF that have medals really deserved them in one way or another.

When someone turns into a moderator at a forum, that person might become a little cocky, it's true but Adler just innocently said that because Deji had uncovered a mystery that was unknown for at least 5 years, even though medals aren't handled that easily so Adler precipitated himself a little and if he really posted that at a staff room in GTAForums I can be sure he was a little bashed at. In here he shows no problems even because there's nothing really to moderate but neither we have medals or commendations (yet).
So yeah tl;dr, Adler got a little cocky there.

Really though. In the Staff room I was not even "a little bashed at." I recommended BnB and Deji and the moderators delivered on it. It was as simple as that. The commendation-handing-out process requires very little deliberation on the staff's part. It was a matter of "who appears to be a likely candidate for a medal so that we can reward them for their efforts?" I felt that BnB and Deji gave enough of their time to be deserving of something. A medal at GTAF may be seen as a simple image appended to a username but it evokes the image that the users are respected figures through their work and I believed that they were deserving of the status.

You know what? Fine by me. I didn't have Deji and BnB be commended for this shit. It's not as if I committed a crime here for all of you to put me on trial. I'm fucking sick of all of you. I can't believe that none of you would give me a little sympathy for my actions but chose instead to defame my good name.

Okay very well, someone was just expressing their opinion and they were objected, no need to be a drama queen and say you're sick of all of us but it's your choice on what you want to do. We were just noting that medals aren't really given easily, cocky might have been the wrong term but just saying you might've precipitated a little bit. And alright you weren't bashed at, good for you, but it was something I'd expect.
