Finally, after over 2 years, it's here!

The website was down from 22:00 (10PM) to 7:00 (7AM) on the 21st of April while the upgrade was performed. It took a lot longer than expected (which was expected) due to some forum installation problems, which were actually caused by errors in a script made by the software authors and I had to fix manually.

There are also a few more issues with the theme. While it was almost perfected on my localhost copy, the live one seems to have additional bugs and coding errors, so they will have to be fixed over time. The main website design seems to be flawless, however smile.gif

A lot more content is still yet to be added to the main site as at the moment it's nearly all documentation for San Andreas. Now the rest of the work is done, though, adding more documentation should be a fairly minimal task.

Opcode Database

The opcode database has recieved a lot of changes and the best is still yet to come. The generator is now capable of outputting keywords.txt files (though, currently only in v1 style, which isn't officially supported - v2 is coming soon). On opcode pages, I've added links to go to the next and previous opcode in the database. Which could come in handy.

A lot of progress has also been made on documenting native command names. These are what Rockstar would have used instead of opcodes. When v2 keyword and .ini output arrives (which will arrive for SA first), we will be able to use these command names and have a coding syntax similar to Rockstars!

Downloads System

Probably the biggest part of GTAG v2. All mods from the old system have been converted to this new system and no information should have been lost. And links to the mods on the old system are automatically redirected to the new one, so there should be no problems with any links you've posted online.

Having multiple files and screenshots per mod is now supported. It should all be pretty self-explanatory when you get to the page.

Something that may need more explaining is the message system. It is completely unconnected with the forum PM system. Messages are sent to you by the system, moderators and admins and will be visible from your user control panel. For example, when you submit a mod, you will get a message confirming the submission. When your mod is approved or unapproved, you get a message.

Another feature is the support system, with which you can get help with your mods. Answers to your support requests are sent via the message system.

If you have more than one file uploaded for a mod, you can order them from the 'Files' section of your mod control panel (you can access the control panel for each mod from your user control panel). Whichever file is on top is set as the primary file for your mod, meaning when the 'Download Latest' link is clicked, that file will be downloaded. So make sure the top file is the file you'd prefer people to be downloading.

When you delete files and screenshots, they're not properly deleted from the server. Instead, they are marked for deletation and pruned at a later time. This means if you accidently delete files, you can get them back either by clicking the 'Undo' button which appears after you delete them or submitting a support request. I will later make it so you can view all deleted files on one page.

There is a brand new weighted (though, still not perfectly decisive) rating system. Also, the new mod system is linked with your profile. So for example, if you visit my profile and click 'Mods', you will see a complete list of my mods.

Any other questions, concerns or bugs to report, feel free to post.

Polish translation is up! However, it's not interesting for anyone who don't speak Polish, so why I'm announcing this in English? tongue.gif

The Portuguese translation is in progress but it's still somewhat early. Also, lousy IPB "NOOBS!". biggrin.gif

Hmm good point. I already intended on expanding the DL system to include customizable profiles with that, though. It might end up being one of the first things to get done wink.gif

Yeah I still gotta transfer the BB code from the old forum. Hopefully I should be able to fix the bugs in it at the same time.

Apparently there was a bug with the mod submission page preventing mods from being created. Since I've got no access to a proper pc, I had to fix it using my phone on a public WiFi network, which was bloody difficult. So please, dont break it again (yes, I'm blaming you lot since I couldn't have possibly made a coding error tongue.gif).

What's with the Rank images? The links seem to be dead.

I know. IPB 2.3 sucks on Mobiles. What theme are you using for this Board?

Im on Android, Sony Xperia. Using forum is fine, but to fix the group icons Id have to download a huge .rar of site files (which wouldn't fit on phone), extract the images and upload them to the ftp server. A lot of trouble for a few images. Will fix when I get back to my PC.

Updates

As you may have noticed, there is now a fancy drop-down member bar at the top-right corner of the page, which displays the posts made since your last visit (as previously promised) and new PM's. If you get a PM, it will also appear in a red circle on the member bar (without having to drop it down to check), so you'll be notified of new PM's immediately while browsing all parts of the site. You can also log out and go to your control panel from here. Looks much better than the previous 'Welcome, Member (Log Out)' link smile.gif

You may also notice that the banner for the main page is now 'GTAG Modding'. I'll be changing the banner for the forum respectively to 'GTAG Forum' ASAP.

EDIT: Just added 'Stop Forum Spam' database checking to the registration process, which should reduce spam bot registrations by 99% smile.gif

EDIT 2: Old BB code is back.

Fixed an issue with GZIP. Pages should load 80% faster now wink.gif

EDIT: Also added GZIP compression to CSS and JS, and another manual tweak to make transfers as fast as possible.

Update

The Opcode DB Generator has a new feature! The Version Manager adds support for Sanny's {$VERSION} directive, allowing members to input their current __SCM.INI files and get a new file containing their current versions plus the newly generated version.

Sanny Builders {$VERSION} directive allows you to choose between different opcode definition versions in your INI, meaning it support compiling many different versions of opcodes. For example:
{$VERSION 3.1.1000}
// OpcodeDB generation in SCM v1 format
009A: 0@ = create_actor_pedtype 4 model #MALE01 at 0.0 0.0 0.0

{$VERSION 3.0.1000}
// OpcodeDB generation in SCR (v2) format
009A: create_char 4 model #MALE01 at 0.0 0.0 0.0 store_to 0@

However, it would seem Sanny's directive {$VERSION_RESTORE}, doesn't actually work, but this shouldn't be too much of a bother.

The Version Manager also allows you change the last digit of subversion in the form (the rest are reserved for any future updates), meaning you can generate up to 10 versions in one file. If the version you're generating already exists in a file, it will be replaced with the newly generated version.

This will come in handy when the v2 INI version becomes fully available, as you can start coding in SCR without losing compatibility with older scripts.
