It has come to our attention that a cherished and very talented member of the GTA community has tragically passed away. Fernando Agapito Jr. aka Yeardley Diamond was a YouTube creator who worked wonders with GTAIV PC to create some of the most memorable and beloved original machinima videos in the history of Grand Theft Auto fan videos. Many of you may fondly recall such classic videos of his as “Harlem Shake on Rockstar Games”, “Niko’s Yoga”, “Niko’s Dramatic Reaction” (to GTAV), “GTAIV Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman”.

Since Fernando’s brother Francis confirmed the news of his untimely passing on Facebook yesterday, outpourings of grief and eulogies have been shared at GTAForums, on Reddit, and by GTA fans across social media.

We at Rockstar Games send our sincerest condolences to the Agapito family, and all of Fernando’s friends and fellow fans. Rest in peace, Yeardley Diamond.

I first heard about it on GTAForums yesterday, and being the respected video maker and GTA fan he was, I decided to raise some awareness by contacting Rockstar via their Mouthoff e-mail. This was what I sent them. Not really formal at all, but I decided it was a good idea:

Dear Rockstar,
You may have known who Yeardly Diamond was. You have featured him and many of his videos on the Newswire and we GTA fans know he was very highly recognised by you guys. It's with a lot of sadness I and a lot of GTA fans bring you these saddening news, that Yeardly Diamond, also known as Francis Agapito, has passed away August 20.

https://www.facebook...eardley.diamond This is his Facebook profile (you can check it is official on his YouTube channel), where his brother announces his death. As a very talented video maker, that has been featured many times by Rockstar, I thought it was a good idea to let you know. Rest in Peace, Yeardley Diamond.

Thanks for your time,
A dedicated GTA fan in the name of every fan of GTA and Yeardly Diamond.

Hopefully this also helped Rockstar see it, and if it did, thank you Rockstar.

Rest in Peace.
