I'm planning on allowing configuration of button mapping for the next release wink.gif

Fantastic, thank you! Yours is one of the few mods that I would deem truly essential, so it's great you're actively improving it smile.gif

This is a fantastic mod, even better than SAAC in my opinion as you can use both the 'look left' and 'look right' buttons together while driving to look behind!

However, one minor issue. I'm using the Xbox 360 controller...

How did you get yours to work?

I'm currently using 1.0 with the asi loader, I use a regular 360 controller, and no other mods, but my game crashes because of Ginput.

I only inserted the Ginput.asi and Xbox360 folder into my SA directory

Do not drag the Xbox360 folder to the installation directory. Drag the contents of the Xbox360 folder to the installation directory (read the readme carefully). Though for Xbox360 pads, you shouldn't need any new files except the original XInput library (only necessary if you run pre-Win7 I think). Make sure you have a compatible version of GTASA, also.

Thanks! I worked with no problem now. I was using Xcontrols that were on another site but this is much better. Menu navigation and all. Thanks again!

Updated to 0.2!

This is pretty much just a release to finalize this phase of GInput. I'm still planning on starting again from scratch to be able to improve SA's control scheme further.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get the PS2 button textures to display. All I get is JOY4, JOY1, etc.

I am running Windows 8.1.
Using XBOX 360 Wired Controller.
Installed San Andreas from the retail DVD.
Installed to "D:\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas".
Patched to 1.01.
Set controls in menu to "JOYPAD".
Placed "Ginput.asi", "Ginput.ini and "XInput9_1_0.dll" in "D:\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas" directory.
Placed "ps2btns.txd" in "D:\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\models" directory.
The controller works great, but instead of the PS2 button textures all I get is JOY4, JOY1, etc.

Any ideas?

Great mod, though, thanks so much for making this. I can finally play it on PC just like a console!

Completely uninstalled and did the same thing as before, except no patch, and I still am just getting JOY4, etc. Am I missing anything else?

Yes, you'll probably need to acquire a 1.0 gta_sa.exe - as the installation does not provide that. Though if your game version is really not 1.0, GInput shouldn't be working at all. Unless perhaps you have the 1.0 EU version...

Valid gta_sa.exe sizes are: 14,383,616 bytes (HOODLUM 1.0), 5,189,632 bytes (listener's compact .exe)

I got a hold of a gta_sa.exe with the file size you listed and it is still doing the same thing. Not sure what's going on.
Oh well. It works better than it did anyway.

Okay, got it working because I'm an idiot. Had never done any modding with GTASA before and didn't realize I needed an .ASI loader. I had used some mods with GTAIII and GTAVC and didn't need them on those, so I didn't bother to read up on modding GTASA. Once I had one of those and the correct GTA_SA.EXE everything was working perfectly. It never was really loading your mod in the first place!
Sorry to waste your time, and thanks again for an awesome mod!

GInput 0.3 Released!

But that's not all...

Tactile Cheat Activation 1.0

Complete restoration of PS2/Xbox cheat functionality. Over 200,000 possible combinations, to activate all 92 possible cheats (even ones unusable via keyboard). Doesn't replace keyboard-activated cheats, so there's no reason not to download, eh? tongue.gif
