VJ issues

hey guys, i have a question:

when i first downloaded VJ, when i would press #6 to call for back-up, my game would crash, this went on for a week or so. then, just yesterday, for the heck of it, i hit #6 again, hey! it worked! so i played a bit then got off my computer and closed everything down. i went back on a few hours later and my game went back to crashing once i hit 6 again. the same thing today, my game crashes.

what could the problem be???

6 should not be the back-up key...

Try making sure you have the latest version from the Vigilante Justice Blog.

i could only find the beta 1 which is waht i downloaded origianlly. the link you gave me does not work. what number should back-up be then? thats what your read me file said i believe. 6 car back up, 7 helicopter back up

There is no helicopter backup function yet.

You seem to be downloading a completely different mod.

hm.... i guess so. but i go to new game and click on vigilante justice. i dunno what it is then. i just reinstalled it. i still do not have any mission sequences. the only thing i can do is go to the pd and get a uniform and weapons. what are the keys to call for backup?

You need to get a police car to activate the missions in VJ (use the submission key). The back up feature is not reliable enough to be released yet (tonnes of bugs and glitches) but should be in a future release.

i am still having an issue with the VJ. I keep reading that people are doing more in the game, more then i am able to do. have you released a newer version that i have just overlooked? I can still only do the regular vigilante missions and thats it, nothing else. no traffic stops like you have in your screens, nowhere to look up the wanted people, havent seen anybody else in the game other than plain pedestrians.

They are coming in the next release ASAP. I have to do some more stuff before I can release wink.gif

hey can someone send me/post a screenshot or even text showing or saying what the menu says when you pull someone over. and why do i get charged thousands upon thousands of dollars once 12;00 comes around?

There has been a minor update/fix to Vigilante Justice 0.2b


Vigilante Justice 0.2b2

This fixes the Payday bug where CR will continuously get payed or get money taken away from him from 12:00 until 13:00.


Try downloading it and see if it fixes many of your problems. I can't figure out why the text wouldn't work.

thanks for all of the advice. the new dl fixed the money issue so thanks for that.

as for the text menus, i dont know what to do. i took out the original american.gxt file and the game would not load......so i had to put it back in. so the text still does not show up. i have figured out a way to "sometimes" get money off of a stop but it would still be nice to know what i am selecting so if you or someone else that reads this can make either a screenshot or post what the text menu for traffic stops are.... it would be much appreciated! thanks

Send a screenshot of your Stop'n'Search menu..

And one of your Police Locker menu, if possible.

Does any other Vigilante Justice text show up? It's weird because it uses the exact same file as the rest of the text in San Andreas... And that's all showing up fine.

It might help if you can upload this file:

GTA San Andreas\VigilanteJustice\install\text\american.gxt


Somewhere, and send the link.

The file you sent me contained no text at all... Which would explain a few things, but SA would crash if that file was installed.

Try downloading again and ensuring the american.gxt file is left unchanged. I don't see how this has happened, really. Not even sure if that link is downloading the file to me properly...

ok now that that is working hahah finally. have you heard of any issues with the calling for a taxi, backup, and an ambulance? i can only select taxi. it wont scroll down to anything else. again.....not a big issue but just letting it be known.
