We've been having an increase in forum spammers lately and we have noticed that spam PM's or emails are being sent out to members of our forum.

These are usually made in the form of virus alerts that claim to be sent by the administrators of the board. Administrators and Moderators seem to not be getting these PM's, which is what has made it so discreet.


All PM's sent by the spam members have been deleted. Chances are you will have not seen them. Note that there is no way to gain access to your computer over GTAG and that we do not send out mass-pm's in such a way. Unless the group of the user from whom the PM is sent is named "Administrators" or "Root Admin", they are not part of the GTAG Staff that are allowed to send such messages.


We have successfully stopped the spam bots from registering.
